Bonnievale

Bonnievale  is situated 180 km east of Cape Town and lies in the Breede River Valley which is known for its fruit and wine farming. Many of the local people from this area depend on seasonal work (farm labour)  available to them and do not hold down permanent positions, leaving them destitute in the meagre months – especially in winter.

Bonnievale is part of Route 62, a very popular, scenic wine route which offers many interesting tourist attractions. The Bonnie People Project has hosted special traditional evenings under African sky with indigenous food, drumming and dancing performed by the children. If you wish to experience an evening with us, bookings can be made via our e-mail address.
